Dance can teach the children how to move from random untrained movements towards artistic expression where they can select and order their actions to initiate a form of dance that represents their thoughts and ideas.

Andrea Williams

Principal

Professional Dance Artist

Trained by the Royal Ballet and Ludus Dance Co

As a professional teacher of dance, freelance dance artist, and professional Choreographer, I have worked in the Theatre and Schools both State and Independent, delivering all aspects of dance from KS1 through to A level. I teach ballet to children aged 3 - 18 as well as being an Arts Award Advisor with the Arts Council England. I have CRB disclosure, PPL and public liability insurance.

As  well as my role of Principal with The Academy, I offer workshops for children from key stage 1 to key stage 3 that are didactic and progressive.  The workshops offer the opportunity for cross curricular project work.  I can create a workshop for your class if you have a particular theme that you wish to work with, otherwise you may wish to choose a scheme of work that I already have in place such as Rainforests, Endangered Species, Under the Sea, Wildlife in our Garden, Robots and teenage issues

YOU CAN DANCE ABOUT ANYTHING

I offer workshops for Choreography and Performance, as well as teaching the set studies for GCSE and A Level.

Workshops can run for a session over a period of weeks, one whole day or ongoing, dependent on your respective needs.

Children and Students can benefit greatly from Dance, strengthening their confidence, giving freedom of expression, attaining social and life skills, enriching their quality of life.

Children love to laugh, play and learn,

Dance is the perfect medium to encompass all of these elements
